Babbi Juice
Is Putting On for The Bricks and Building His Name in Sacramento
Sacramento has always had its own sound, its own politics, and its own type of artists — and Babbi Juice is one of the newer names coming out of the city that people should be paying attention to.
Coming from The Bricks / 5th Street, Babbi Juice represents Sacramento with the type of raw energy that comes from actually being outside and being connected to where you come from. He’s still on the come up, but his name has been getting mentioned more as he continues dropping music, visuals, and keeping himself active in the city.
One of the biggest things working against him hasn’t even been the music. Instagram has repeatedly taken down his accounts, forcing him to keep rebuilding his following from scratch. For an upcoming artist, losing a page can mean losing years of followers, connections and momentum. Instead of letting it stop him, Babbi Juice has continued making new pages, pushing his music and getting his name back in front of people.
Records like “Running Back” have helped build his buzz, while songs such as “Rockout” show that Babbi Juice can take sounds and moments people are already talking about and put his own Sacramento flavor on them. He’s building a catalog while making sure The Bricks stay represented every time his name comes up.
Sacramento rap is competitive. There are artists coming out of Oak Park, South Sac, North Sac and neighborhoods all across the city trying to become the next name to break through. Babbi Juice is carving out his own lane by staying consistent and making sure people know exactly what section he represents.
He might be rebuilding his Instagram again, but you can delete a page easier than you can delete a name that’s starting to ring bells in the streets.
Babbi Juice is still early in his run, and that might be the most interesting part. If he keeps dropping, keeps improving and keeps applying pressure, Sacramento could be hearing a lot more from The Bricks’ own Babbi Juice.
The come up is happening in real time.
